What Adventures Lie Ahead

You should never underestimate the potential any given night has in becoming memorable.  This was no exception.  We went to some friends' house for a simple barbeque, just a few families enjoying each other's company.  But then....

...the kids came running into the house yelling "We saw a deer!  We saw a deer!"  Oh, did I forget to mention that it was opening day for deer archery hunting?  Oh and did I ALSO forget to mention that one of the dads with us had his bow in the car?  Well, one good shot, some skillful tracking and a few hours later....

A night that none of us will soon forget!

Robin Hood

Our little Robin Hood got a gift card from his aunt and uncle for his birthday this summer.  So we finally got to head down to Bass Pro Shops and naturally, what he picked out was something dangerous...

The Mighty Hunter

Daddy taught our little hunter how to use the live-trap to catch those pesky ground squirrels that are eating all of my vegetables.  My son can strategically place the trap, bait it, set the spring trigger, and make sure to rig it so they cannot escape once caught.  So far I think he has caught seven of them all on his very own.  You GO boy!

Chukar

We went camping last weekend in the desert, looking for Chukar (kind of like a partridge). We had such fun riding around on our ATVs and 4-wheel drives that the pictures just can't do it justice. Here they are anyway...

And So It Begins...

September 1st is a marked calendar day at our house. It is the opening day for dove hunting season. Hubby's an avid upland bird hunter and love hunting season. This year is no different. It's 9:40 in the morning and the guys are already home with their limit on birds. My son was holding one and I asked him what it was and he said "A ground squirrel"...um, NO little buddy....but we DID catch one of those too today!
That'll teach those little demons to eat from my garden.
